ABOUT ME
My Background
I was born and grew up in Thai Nguyen Province - a mountainous Northeast region of Vietnam. Since childhood, I dreamt to follow in my mother's footsteps and becoming a teacher. I earned my bachelor's in English Linguistics and then an MA, also in English Linguistics at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam. I worked as a high school teacher for gifted students in my home country for more than 10 years before my academic adventure in the USA.
I attended Bowling Green State University, OH as a TEA (Teaching Excellence and Achievement) scholar under the sponsorship of the Fulbright program in the Spring of 2014. Then I continued my M.Ed in Comparative and Global Education at Lehigh University, PA as a Fulbrighter under another sponsorship of the Fulbright program. Currently, I am in the final stage of my Ph.D. program in Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO with a plan to graduate by December 2022.
As my background is strongly rooted in education, I am interested in developing methods, principles, and theories to optimize students' learning, especially learning with cutting-edge technologies in classrooms and online environments.
Research Interests
My research objective to design and develop learning experiences with instructional technologies in a way that makes learning simple yet still engaging and meaningful for learners utilizing needs analysis, usability testing, learning theories, behavior theories, media theories, learning analytics, and cutting edge technologies like Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.
Methods
I used mixed methods for my research, which includes learning analytics, content analysis, interviewers, tasks analysis, and more.
